As far as food is concerned, what's your guilty pleasure?

Asked by Hawaii_Jake (37334points) October 13th, 2011

I love warm fresh cinnamon rolls with so much real butter on top it drips onto the plate.

What about you?

@Jeruba : Seeing “brie and baguette” reminded me of being in Normandy, France, and eating Camembert and fresh butter on warm baguette. I just went to the grocery store. I may have to go again tomorrow and get those things.

You’re all going to want to beat me for this, but right now, I’m having trouble keeping the weight on, so I’m eating everything and anything in sight and forcing myself to eat as much as I can.

Linguine with meat sauce and melted mozerella, pizza, lasagna, stuffed shells.

Grilled cheese made with Kraft Vermont cheddar in the green package.

Honey Smacks, frosted flakes, captain crunch.

Coca cola!

Coca cola cake.

Pecan turtle candies, and chocolate covered cherries.

I rarely eat ice cream, pretty much don’t crave it, but I love Baskin and Robbins Jamoca Almond Fudge when I do.

Mounds cake at Too Jay’s.

Rainbow cookies (actually a mini cake, the Italian ones, also found in Jewish delis).

Having just answered a question about thanksgiving, I’d have to say pecan pie. Once it’s made, I’ve little or no control when it comes to that.

Oh, and fried garlic cheese bread; rubbed with garlic, fried crisp, loaded layers of melted cheese, butter, minced garlic, and a touch of coarse grey salt, then broiled until the top begins to get a dark brown…

I think I just decided on lunch >.>

This chocolate cake. It is the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth. I used to bake and eat at least one of these per week. I stopped when my blood pressure read 139/96 at a doctor’s appointment. It’s normally about 110/70. I guess depression and delicious cake isn’t that healthy of a combination. But it’s so good!

@MrShineyShoes Try this…

Pasta (linguini or spaghetti)
Garlic slices ( a whole head of garlic for a whole bag of pasta) pan fried in a bit of good oilve oil (About a half cup for a whole box of pasta) until just golden brown)
*Set aside and save the oil.
Red pepper flake
Good Italian bread crumbs
a smidge of lemon juice,
A head of fresh broccoli trimmed cleaned and cut up into floretts.
Chopped basic leaves, chopped flat leaf parsley and chopped oregano
a nice sharp grating cheese like Cashiocavallo (Not really made of horse milk anymore, but they still call it that) or Asiago, or a sharp provolone. Grated.

Boil the pasta until half way through to cooked, add in the broccoli, finish cooking together.
Drain all in a collander, reserving just a bit of the pasta water for a sauce
dress the pasta in the oil, add the bread crumbs, herbs and garlic crumbled on top, and a lot of cheese and just a scant little squeeze of lemon for brightness.

Mix together and enjoy!

It is called Aglia Oglia con Broccoli.

Lately, it’s rootbeer floats with chocolate (Häagen-Dazs) ice cream. I prefer Victory root beer (on tap).

@my “guilty pleasure.” *because it has absolutely no nutritional value really and is high in calories as well as carbs is white rice.

I could live on white rice with duck sauce.

I just bought one of those “Rocky Road” candy bars yesterday, the mint marshmallow one. I LOVE those, also Butterfingers.

Otherwise, coffee ice cream, or maple nut with extra walnuts.

I’m a sweet kinda gal. :-)

I do not associate food with guilt. That’s the first step to an eating disorder. I eat what I want, when I want.

My guilt comes from eating animals or animal products so I do all I can to eat free-range, organic foods.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

Quality sourdough bread with triple creme blue cheese, soft as brie. I can eat a half cup of cheese and probably a half roll of the bread, especially if there’s champagne to drink.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@Neizvestnaya OoooOoOh…. That sounds heavenly!

Peanut Butter desserts

A huge, huge plate of top-quality crab and lobster (guilty pleasure because of the $$!)
Chili’s Baby Back Ribs
Outback’s Onion Blossom
Again because of the $$, a trip to The Melting Pot

@WillWorkForChocolate I tried Taco Bell for the first time last month while in the States (we don’t have it over here). If I lived over there it would be my guilty pleasure too!
