Have your pet peeves changed with age? What bothers you now that didn't then and vice versa?

Asked by GabrielsLamb (6186points) October 14th, 2011

Have your pet peeves changed as you have aged?

What were they once?
What are they now in contrast?

Or will you hold on to them bitterly, and miserly and never, ever let them go for as long as you both shall live?

My pet peeves were once very rigid, pent up, and quite small in scope of vision and view. I was an overweight, miserable, WASPY, quite prude all american housewife, and mother. I was however a different person then, trying to live a different life from what I was raised with. When everything collapsed, I compromised some of those things on purpose just to see for myself if I was wrong or not, and others I challenged but still went back to.

The one that stuck… Grammar and punctuation nazi’s Rude people. LOL

I hate it when people use the word compliment when they mean complement.

I used to be unbearably tempted to prick the ego balloons of blowhards and arrogant people. Now, I just shrug and move on.

Well many people believe they are the same thing, because they almost are in a way. It’s stickling if you ask me so I am glad that you got over it.

I hated poor grammar and spelling and still do . . . pretty much the pet peeves are still the same pet peeves . . .

Well, when I was young it was cool to peel out of a parking lot! It was cool to listen to music blasting! Not cool anymore. What the hell is wrong the kids today?

I am much more laid back than I was when I was younger. Less bothers me.

I still cannot stand bullying or seeing people being picked on unnecessarily. Things that bother me now tend to relate to others being treated unfairly.

Those bluehairs that used to drive around the parking lot excruciatingly slow searching for that ever illusive handicap spot, used to chap my ass. Not any more |:\

I used to love snow as a kid, but now I hate it.

I used to hate exercising, but now I love it.

I sense a speedo inference coming…

I used to get really annoyed about things that other people were doing that had no direct effect on me. Somebody just minding their own business but behaving in a way I disagreed with bothered me, for some reason. I’m not that way anymore…I’m much more live and let live. In fact, the only behavior that really bothers me anymore is that of people who don’t “let live”

@woodcutter Aggh, will ya stop teasing me about my Speedos? Few men wear it well, and I happen to be one of those who do. So there! LOL. :P

Dutchess_III's avatar

ALL men who wear Speedos think they wear it well, duh! Does it ever occur to them that women don’t find Speedos attractive even on well built men??

Bellatrix's avatar

@Dutchess_III, nope. I don’t think it does.

MRSHINYSHOES's avatar

I would certainly think so, but only if the woman happens to be a lesbian or has lesbian tendencies. Snark, snark.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Wait…@MRSHINYSHOES you’re saying that if a woman doesn’t find speedo-s attractive on men she must have lesbian tenancies? Is that really what I just heard?
