What have your kids chosen for their Halloween costumes this year?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) October 18th, 2011

My 5 year old picked out an Elegant Vampiress dress and my 10 year old chose a Zombie Girl costume! Teeheehee!!

I know a couple of jellies that will like the Zombie costume!

Have your kids gone costume shopping yet? What did they pick out this year? (Post pics if you can!)

My oldest picked out an unknown phantom costume and he picked out a little devil costume for the baby.

@creative1 Awwwwww, that’ll be so cute!

@ANef_is_Enuf LOL, Mothman!!!!! Love it!

@Seaofclouds Don’t you love it when siblings give their input? My youngest helped my oldest pick her zombie costume, haha.

My 10year-old grandson wanted to be a Dahlek from Dr. Who. He asked Grandpa if he would help build the costume. Grandpa said yes, and we had to delay our vacation one day in order to finish the costume. As a former theatre costumer, I must say that the Dahlek costume was the hardest I’ve ever helped make!

Whoa! That zombie costume is cute as hell. I’d wear that. :D You gotta take pictures of your girls and show us after Halloween.

@peggylou That sounds really cool!

@Symbeline Oh, you can count on it, haha, especially since we’re using greenish grease paint on her face and drawing on the little stitch marks. She liked the girl’s face in the picture.

My 4 year old grandson wants to be a Zombie, but I don’t think we will buy anything, just homemade. The two year old says yes to everything.

My 13 month old daughter will be a frog IF she can tolerate the hood on the little frog coat. If not, she will wear skeleton pajamas. The skeleton pajamas are winning so far.

I chose a pirate.
My 6 year old brother is Spider Man. (maybe)
My friends are all Fruit of the Loom Characters.

I want to be Columbia from Rocky Horror, and my friend is going as Magenta, but I’m not sure if my dad will buy the costume.

@laineybug I love Rocky Horror!!!

We refer to October as “Halloween Month” in our home.

Due to it’s popularity with our son, we go trick or treating a few times. We do two neighborhoods on Halloween weekend, and will do at least two locations over the next week (Zoo, Museum & possibly more).

So far, our son wants to go as a “witch/wizard type person” (his words), a zombie, a mummy and possibly as Jack Pumpkinhead

Thankfully he likes dress up play, so we have the needed supplies. Looks like I’ll be bringing out the face painting kit ;)

My nephew is going to be The Doctor…but he has no choice considering he’s only a year old. :]

Babylingua’s going to be a Dead Cowgirl. She was going for the staple costumes, but I asked her to be creative. She came up with that and plans to temp-dye her towhead-blonde hair brown just for that!

@laineybug, my daughter loves Rocky Horror, too!

My youngest daughter is going out as the lion in the Wizard of Oz.

My oldest is going as a Vampiress.

Each of my kids wants to be a different character from this Japanese manga show they currently watch, Inu Yasha. The 6 year old wants to be Inu Yasha, the 8 year old wants to be Sesshomaru, and my 12 year old daughter wants to be a wolf demon character whose name I can’t recall.

I’m not sure yet if we’ll manage this, because these are not costumes you can just run out and buy and we are getting short on time. I think we can cobble something together just fine, since it’s not like anyone will know what they’re supposed to be or notice details we get wrong!

My husband and I were invited to a costume party this year, and I think we know what we’re going to do. We’re going to dress up like a certain part of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video. There’s a part where she and some guy have their faces painted like skulls and they’re wearing tuxedos, and that’s what we’re doing for the party. My husband immediately rejected my first few ideas: Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, Han Solo and Princess Leia, Rhett Butler and Scarlett. Party pooper.

I love all these answers! Halloween is my second favorite holiday, and I think picking out costumes is so much fun!
