What kinds of songs would you not expect to find on itunes?

Asked by flo (13313points) October 24th, 2011

One of answers to one of my questions about music asked “Why try to find…..on itunes?” So, what categories of music would be a waste of time to try and find there?
and what is/are the alternative to itunes?

Zune is an alternative to iTunes. I like it. Or the Ubuntu music store, or Amazon. I would suppose music like Engine-EarZ Experiment would not be found on iTunes.

Also there are websites that promote emotive hardcore music, which you won’t find on iTunes. It’s referred to commonly as, “screamo” or “emo” music. Largely these are underground bands which do not have backing of a record company or are simply just self-promoted and self-producing their records.

@IsshoNi Thanks. I have tried to find a few things that weren’t “screamo” types at all where I got “no results” I think it was American folk music I was trying to find.
(Edited: Another) example:
SONG: Mustt Mustt
ARTIST: Kiran Ahluwalia
ALBUM: Aam Zameen – Common Ground

Best bet is Amazon and sometimes Zune. They both handle obscures decently in my opinion.

I just don’t get itunes. I have an old OP about it, I will go and find it.

I was at a site that has the word “universal and the word CD and no problem it allows you to sample the 1st…seconds. I can’t find it now. If you know let me know.

“Jim Croce One Less Set Of Footsteps” That is the one I had this
question. I don’t think that is obscure.

This is what itunes gave as results for Tool on the right middle part of the screen:

Mouse In My Toolbox
The Laurie Berkner Band
Music VideoToo Little Too Late
A Skylit Drive
Music VideoToo Long
Daft Punk
Music VideoToo Little Too Late
Barenaked Ladies
Music VideoToo Little Too Late
A Skylit Drive
Music Video

It took the “too” and the 1st letter of the second word “l” and made the word “tool”

@Blackberry I have been trying to find Tool on iTunes for years. I can’t believe it either.

Maybe Maynard thinks iTunes is lame. Can’t say I disagree.
