Program/way to track and cover face?

Asked by XOIIO (18328points) October 30th, 2011

Alright, so basically, I want a program that can take a webcam feed, like manycam does, and track the face, but overlay an animated GIF over it, instead of a still mask. If that isn’t possible, is there a way to track and put an image over a face in sony vegas, or another program? I need this for something I am working on.

I’m not sure about doing it to a live webcam. But if have the video of it After Effects will easily allow you to do this.

@johnpowell After affects seems to be somewhat anonoying, abut if it can do it i’d like to learn. Are you sure it can overlay an animated gif? I’ll pm you with my plan

Isn’t there cheap software bundled with webcams for this?

Here’s an example from years ago (ignore the content, it’s simply presented as an example of animation overlaid on video with cheap tools).

@jaytkay But, Those programs, like manycam, don’t allow an actual animated gif :( At leats, none that I have seen.

I know it’s not exactly what you are looking for… but this is a great start. Scramble suit . This guy clearly knows a thing or two about webcam feed manipulation. Poke around the forums of the software he uses &/or ask him about what you are trying to accomplish, he may be able to point you in the right direction.
