Is it true that the ex-wife of one of the Madoffs can profit from a book about Madoff scandal?

If true, why is that? Couldn’t the spouse have been a participant in the crime? Could they not still be close enough even if they are divorced? I thought noone related to the perpertrator can benefit from the crime.
