How do you label a line by points in Civil 3d?

With LDD this feature was available, now it appears that it is no longer available in Civil 3D 2010. I suspect it is because they figure that it is unnecessary since it can be done through parcel annotation. It creates extra time for our drafters to achieve something that was a very quick process.
