Where can I generate a barcode image (UPC) with a correct font beneath?

Most of online software display some other non standard font than on the barcodes you find in the supermarkets, what is the best to use?

The question, of course, is what is your purpose? The numbers are just for human-readable, so anything reasonably clear (like a helvitica, or other sans serif font) should do nicely.

If you're trying to design a barcode that looks like the standard ones (like for a graphic design element), try scanning an example and plugging it into http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
