You really need to know WHY they’re out of alignment before you can allow a chiropracter to manipulate your bones. I suggest a good GP.

I am a firm believer in Chiropractic. I have Scoliosis and occasionally pinch a nerve near my should blades. I would find a good one. He should take X-Rays and share them with you, pointing out the areas of trouble. If Chiropractic can help, he’ll tell you. If it cannot, he’ll tell you that also.

CaptainHarley is correct. The first step is your family doctor. Let him order an MRI of your effected area and see what is happening to your body.

I have had much success with Chiropractic services, but only AFTER I met with my family doctor and we discussed the situation together.

I say this, “you can’t drive from the big city to a small country town, until you know where you are going”. See your doctor first and get his directions and advice.

Medical doctors often will not recommend Chiropractic. Chiropractors will not “do” anything to you that would hurt you.

He wouldn’t be looking for a recommendation, he would be looking for a diagnosis. He doesn’t even have to let the MD know that he’s considering a chiropracter. You seem a bit sensitive about people’s views of chiropracters. We’re just recommending caution when dealing with physical ailments.

Touche’ @CaptainHarley, I guess it’s because my own mother doesn’t trust Chiropractors even after she saw how it helped both my son and me. Doctors won’t do much accept unnecessary surgery or pain pills. This is a Chiropractors field. It’s frustrating for me when people say go to a doctor first. For female issues, I go to my OB/GYN, for thyroid issues, I go to my Endocrinologist, When it comes to skeletal alignment issues, Chiropractors are the experts. Sorry if I cam off rude in my last answer. :-)
