Who really writes the Richard Castle (Nikki Heat) books?

Richard Castle is a fictional character on the TV Show “Castle”. He is a writer attached to the NYPD.
There are several novels published under name of Richard Castle.
Who is really writing this series?

Maybe one of the writers of the series. Or, there are some suggestions of Tom Straw, James Patterson, and Stephen J. Cannell.
