How full is your DVR?

Asked by filmfann (52223points) November 21st, 2011

I had to record House a few weeks ago, and had to remind myself of how to use the VCR. My sister laughed at me, reminding me what century it is, but I refuse to get a DVR because I would end up watching a lot more TV.
How many shows, movies, or games do you have on your DVR waiting for you to watch and delete them?
Do you find yourself watching more television?
Do you feel guilty for deleting things you haven’t watched?

I don’t have a DVR anymore because I don’t want to spend the extra money, but I use to have one. I am very particular about some things though and deleting the things I’ve already watched was one thing I always did. I couldn’t stand going through a long list of shows trying to find the one I wanted to watch, so I made sure I always deleted the stuff I was done with. I don’t think I watched more tv when we had it. I probably watched less because I’d only watch the shows I had recorded instead of getting sucked into the shows before and after them.

Now I just watch the shows I’ve missed either on demand or online.

No DVR here, and don’t plan to get one anytime soon for your exact same reason.

We watch the same amount of tv shows and have had our DVR for a few years now.

I find we actually watch less tv with it. We no longer have to watch intros, or commercials, or any part of a show that’s dull.

It’s great with kids, since we can save a fav show or movie and re-watch it.
