I want to order some "heavy weight flannel sheets". Anyone ever had that sort of flannel sheet? Did you like them?

Compared to the usual flannel sheet…

This question may be ridiculous. I don’t know.

They’re for my bro for Xmas. I don’t want him to feel as though this is being smothered by heavy pancake batter. :)

Ugh. I do apologize for poor grammar. I am hopped up on pain killers.

Take a look at L.L. Bean’s collection of flannel sheets. Their products are top quality.

I think lighter weight sheets with several layers of light blankets are the best for optimum warmth and coziness.

I quit using a top sheet a few years ago and sleep naked on a regular sheet with a microfiber blanket and light quilt on top. Extreme bliss.

The heavier the flannel the lobger it takes to break in. Go for soft flanner over ultra heavy.

@Coloma Have you been sampling some of your brownies? ;)

@Pied_Pfeffer They’re beautiful, but, a bit too pricey for me. Our gift exchange budget is 75 bucks. I am looking at Younkers. They have incredible sales on right now.

@Jude Haha, no, the brownie cupboard is bare. I only indulge every few months in a new batch. To really appriciate the “happy” one must be moderate. :-)

My elderly mother slept on these sheets, before she passed away. She was so thin, that the flannel sheets kept her warm in bed and she loved them.

I believe J. C. Penney has them advertised online. jp

I don’t care for flannel sheets. They’re too hot. I like nice crisp cool sheets with warm comforters.

Correction: they are cheaper at WalMart or Target.

Go to Costco. I got some heavy ones there and they are Heavy and Cheap! $14 for twin, $24 for full. Probably not much more for Q and K.

I love them! Buy good quality ones, though. Cheaper ones can feel kind of… rough-ish.

I love flannel and also micro-fleece. I use the flannel all year long. My favorite brand is Northern Nights on QVC.

I forgot to mention, I got my latest set on Overstock.com (which I think is now just O.com). The price was reasonable, compared to LL Bean/Lands End.

@augustlan Good recommendation on Overstock.com. Their flannel sheets fall within Jude’s price range.

@Jude Just a question out of curiosity…If I recall correctly, you live in Canada. If this is correct, are the bed sizes the same there as in the US? The reason for asking is that, in England, bedding sizes are different than in the US. It’s worth double-checking should you find some online.

EmptyNest's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer, that’s very interesting. I never knew that! What are your bed sizes?

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

@EmptyNest Here is a link to bed size measurements by some countries. I just found another site, and it notes that US and Canada have the same measurements for beds.

Jude's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer I’m pretty sure that they’re the same. :)

Thanks for the link, @Pied_Pfeffer. Very interesting. :-)
