What kind of tree is this?

Asked by Skaggfacemutt (9820points) November 28th, 2011

I love those trees that grow all over Anaheim, by Disneyland, at the hotels and around the blocks. They have mauve colored flowers in the spring. I am not familiar with California trees, so maybe someone could tell me. Also, will they grow in Utah?

Crepe Myrtle? Were you going to post a picture?

Crepe Myrtles come in in various shades of pink, mauve, red, lavender.

Google Crepe Myrtle pictures and take a gander. :-)

I don’t have a picture to post. Let me look up crepe myrtle and see. Be back in a moment.

I don’t think this is it. They are on the grounds of both the Embassy Suites and the Residence Inn Maingate.

You are thinking of Jacaranda trees. They are very beautiful.

I love Jacaranda trees. I have two in my garden. I planted one for my dad when he passed too. They are very pretty trees @Skaggfacemutt.

I have been reading up on them – I don’t think I could get one to grow in Salt Lake City. Well, maybe if I start it in the house.
