Where is the best place for a total Android newbie to learn the basics?

Please do not stick in a link to Android Forums. In my opinion, that place is geared far more to those with medium to expert range of experience. Even the functionality is far more dense and obtuse than any other forum I’ve encountered in the last ten years. They don’t even have a newbie area hence I’m not ready for that yet.

When I’ve Googled Android help, I get a whole bunch of links for sites with tutorials for how to design Android Apps.

I really need some place which does not assume nor require any previous experience at all. Even if it’s just one section of the overall site.

How do they think anyone is ever going to be able to pick up how to use Android OS if you’ve got to be a techno geek to begin with?

I’ve taken a step out of the Apple “walled garden” but it’s a pretty damn steep learning curve and it’s a cold cruel uncaring world out there.

But I know I can always count on Fluther. I got great advice from some of you on choosing the best Tablet (followed your advice about Honeycomb). Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the darn thing.

It’s an Acer Iconia A100
