Why is the EDD of California taking so long?

Asked by whitetigress (3129points) December 22nd, 2011

Are you also experiencing a delay in your disbursement? The last time I was paid was Dec 1st. I sent my claim form on time a week and a half ago now. Also, could it be because the post office is so busy? When I had mailed my forms my envelope was near the top of the mail box! And I could see it stacked up amongst others envelopes. I’m worried.

The delay many very well be due to the high volume of mail the post office processes at Christmas. It’s the busiest time of the year for the USPS.

@lillycoyote Thanks! However, I just received mail from the EDD. I FORGOT TO SIGN THE DAMN FORM! ARGH. Lol. Dang no Christmas gifts this year for my folks…

@whitetigress Damn!!! Worst case scenario! That sucks, really, I’m sorry.

@lillycoyote You’d think they’d come up with a way we could get this resolved over the internet or by phone (_) but nope, they like to just do it the old school way, snail mail.

@whitetigress I checked out their website and it looks like their moving or have moved in that direction but I guess it’s too late to take care of it in time for Christmas. Bureaucracies move very slowly.

Damn! I swear to God, before I die, I will be able to spell “bureaucracies” on my first try. I don’t know why I have so much trouble with that one. Stupid French/Greek mongrel word. :-)
