How do you approach Fluther when there are no Questions for you?

Asked by SuperMouse (30845points) January 2nd, 2012

We have established that most of us don’t seem to be greeted by Questions for you when we sign in to Fluther these days. For me this has required developing a brand new approach to the site. Has it for you? What is your new approach? How do is it working for you?

I find the questions that aren’t for me can be more interesting as it may be a subject I have not discussed on fluther before. It gets boring answering the same questions that fluther brings up for you and so I just do a little scan of the most recent questions and read any that catch my eye. Seems to be working pretty well. I found this question didn’t I!

I have taken to clicking on my avatar to see the “Newborn” venue, then, I choose from that if anything is of interest to me. I haven’t really been browsing the other sections, but, will probably take a spin through “social” here this morning.

Adapt or fade away. ;-)

I’ve never really used those. I go through the new questions in each section every day. When I go back to college I won’t have that kind of time, though, so I’ll be interested to hear what kind of methods people have for skimming.

Well, imagine Fluther like a tunnel, and questiones I’m interested in as a golden statue. Spam, self promotion questions and people from yahoo answers are like deadly traps, pits and boulders. I grab my hat and whip, and make like indiana jones getting to the gold statue.

Like always I usually end up deleting most of my personal questions so nothing much has changed for me in the past two years on here. There are two ways I do my searches: 1. I look at the first five pages of questions in each category. 2. I’ll type in keywords and if the question was asked in a reasonable time frame (usually 6 months for me) I’ll answer them.

I don’t use the Questions for You section, because they are all simply taken from the other Sections (but many good Q’s are not suggested) so I just go through Social, and General and Meta one by one. I’m a quick reader and I know what topics are of interest to me, so it’s pretty easy to pick and choose.

I just go to each section and look through the list. I do this anyway after looking at my “questions for you.”

Same here. ^ ^ ^

^^ Same as those two above me.

Same as @tedibear and @JilltheTooth I’m just looking at the new questions in each category, starting at the top and stopping where I left off last time.

And… Questions for You is working again! :)

The questions for you is the first thing I check, then activity and then general, social and meta. If there is nothing in my questions for you I just have to skip the first part of my routine.

When there aren’t any I look through the list of questions.
Or I ask a question. O.o

I the “questions for you” feature not working again? I was fixed, but today I haven’t had any. I usually wake up to a whole new list.

I ask a question.

I never use Questions for you. Mine is stuck at 1000 right now. When I log in I check messages if I have any, then I look at the new questions starting with the General section, then on to social and meta. I also use the active tab for each section after I’m done looking at the new questions.

My Questions for You was stuck? at 1000 for 2ish years, and then a few weeks ago it went to zero and then to 1.
