Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) All-Inclusive Resort Recommendations?

I am planning a trip to the Dominican Republic this August or September for 8 days, 7 nights. I have done my fair share of researching the resorts and am torn between RIU Palace Macao and Dreams Resort, both in Punta Cana. Does anyone have experience with these, preferably both, and can offer advice? I like Dreams a little more, but I know if we go to RIU then we can visit any of the other RIU Resorts as well. It is a vacation for my boyfriend and I, if that helps. Any other advice would be great as well. Thanks so much.

I think one thing you may want to take into consideration is location. Dreams is more than an hour from Punta Cana. That makes it harder if you wanted to go off property to experience the clubs (supposed to be great) or the shopping. So, it depends on your idea of the perfect vacation. That isolation may suit your pans perfectly.

It also depends on the look and feel that you like. RIU is more classicly elegant, while Dreams is newer.
