How do I make an LED emit light consistently across its plastic casing?

Asked by bluemukaki (4332points) May 19th, 2008

I have an IR LED which I’m trying to get to work with the Wiimote Whiteboard software, but the LED is only emitting light out of the tip of the LED, so the camera can only pick it up when the LED faces directly towards it. How can I make the LED emit light across the entire face of the plastic casing?

you could try having 3 LED’s in an arrangement like this; therfore you would have an LED at all angles

also, you may be using a narrow angle beam led. if that’s the case you could try a wide angle beam led.
