Is there a particular food that makes your taste buds sigh with pleasure?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) January 9th, 2012

Everyone has comfort foods or favorite foods, but is there one food item in particular that makes your taste buds weep with gratitude?

Personally, I could devour a whole bag of York Peppermint Patties. My brain screams “Oh bliss!” when I eat a York.

Real unsweetened/unsalted butter. That or the plug of cream that tops cold farm milk.

-Perfectly baked potatoes smothered in sesame oil and cheese.

-Eggplant parm on a hard roll.

-My usual Subway sandwich. Egg and cheese on flat bread with tomatoes, pickles and salt and pepper.

-Any of the above with a big glass of whole milk.

What a delicious question!

Kardamom's avatar

@WestRiverrat I think I need to clean my glasses, I thought you wrote tenderloin lips and I was thinking is he planning to eat it or kiss it LOL.

@WillWorkForChocolate Considering your name, I’m truly shocked to hear that you’ve never had Sees candy. I believe they originated in Pasadena in California and they’re marvelous. And the stores, themselves, are so cute with their black and white motif, right out of the early 1900’s and the ladies who work there wear old fashioned white dresses and little hats (kind of like how nurses used to dress) and they always offer you a free sample when you walk in the door. You can order some online at Sees Candy. I would suggest getting a box of the nuts and chews, first, then venture out. The Bordeaux’s are usually a decadent favorite. They are chocolate covering a chewy inside of some type of butter cream that has just a hint of maybe rum, not exactly sure. And I love the milk chocolate over coconut, and they’ve got some nifty bon bons that are not chocolate that are wonderful like these Strawberry Truffles, but my favorites are anything with nuts, caramel and milk chocolate.

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

Holy cow, I’m going to that site right now, lol. Yum, thanks!

What are the ones you were talking about with chocolate covered caramel and walnuts?

KatawaGrey's avatar

—Making myself some baked potatoes right now. :)

Kardamom's avatar

@WillWorkForChocolate They would be part of the nuts and chews package. I think you could either order that sample box, or if you talk to someone on the phone, just tell them that you want a caramel and walnut with either dark or milk chocolate, I don’t think it has a special name.
