What do you think the growing hummm sounds heard through out the world are?

Asked by judochop (16119points) January 10th, 2012

Since 2009 all over the world there have been recordings of sounds that come and go that no one can explain. One thing though, they all sound alike. Sometimes they last for days, other times just for a day. I will post some links so you can asses the sound for yourself. Last night, in Costa Rica it was heard and continues to hummm. I have thoughts on it, one idea is HAARP. Another idea is the it is possibly a warning of things to come. What are your thoughts?
here is a recent recording
great video
More noise
It’s important to note that major media coverage is very limited.
This explains it well and notes the side effects people often feel from it.

Strange noises have been around forever. It seems to be “natural” (the Algonquin Indians in Connecticut named these before white men even landed here, much less ‘thought up HAARP’).

It’s worth investigating, but the investigation should truly be done with an open mind, not with the idea of “what is the government doing to us now?”

I have read about HAARP and how it’s a common factor in conspiracy theories, largely because most people don’t understand what it does or why it exists; that doesn’t mean that it’s part of some malicious government experiment. I have also read up on the Taos Hum, a humming noise heard by some people around the specific city of Taos, New Mexico.

I don’t know what to make of it. Sometimes I think that with all the radio waves and communication signals running through the air that there might be some credence to it, but I think if it happens, it’s accidental, and it’s not part of a conspiracy (and I don’t think it’s caused by extraterrestrials either).

The increasing number of people meditating…..

It is the sound of skeptics humming at all the ever more ridiculous conspiracy theories.

Stand anywhere on the planet and listen and you will hear sounds, it is the way it has always been. No place on this planet will you hear nothing, there is always some kind of sound. Also, the sounds in the videos all sound different.

judochop's avatar

@poisonedantidote but the sound is much louder than just wind. You think it is nothing eh? It might be. Not all people hear it.
But watch this, this is a baseball game on live TV. The commentators hear it and comment on it.

You’ve heard of doldrums right? Well these are humdrums. :D

Someone wrote “I love Fluther!” in the comments of the first video.

I don’t know what to think. I think it’s really interesting and kind of terrifying. It seems like with all the electricity we’ve got going and radios and cell phone satellites and whatnot, particles are probably crashing into each other more often than ever before and doing weird shit and making weird sounds. It seems like something along those lines would make sense, but maybe you’re right @judochop, maybe it’s a sign of bad things to come. OOooh eery.

@FutureMemory And apparently Judochop likes to watch chick flicks…...

It’s Lord Xenu… if you call Tom Cruise he can explain in detail.

Sorry, I don’t have 100,000$ to find out more or I’d tell you.

I don’t think there’s a word for it, it’s not understood at this point so I will call it ‘Super Unknown’ which has nothing to do with my love for Soundgarden

God dammit, are we on The Island again?? Is the DHARMA Initiative gonna have to set up a new station just to study this shit?

jazmina88's avatar

well, I guess I better start wondering what a HAARP is.

I think it’s electromagnetic energy pulses.
Our planet does have a light and sound show, if we are wise enough to see it.
Now to learn about this stuff…..poof

Bird blenders, otherwise known as wind turbines.

I’ve already studied chemtrails, and from the video I just watched, HAARP could change the jet stream, which is very high now and the reason for this warm January.

I dont know why we would agitate the globe vs. warming. and control weather. We are not God. that can stop hurricane and tornado. We are accelerating the problem with our intervention.

I have no idea if the humming sound being heard in multiple locations around the world is connected to HAARP. But the technology behind HAARP has very dangerous implications for our planet & the people on it. It basically uses microwaves to heat the ionosphere, causing it to bulge up-wards & push on the jet-stream that influences our weather patterns. It also creates ultra-low frequency waves which directly influence people’s brains & emotions, & this technology has been used by the military against ‘military targets’. The ultra-low frequency waves give off just this sort of sound.

I don’t get it, if it’s some super secret sound that only a few hear, why the hell can we all hear it on Youtube?
I guess because it’s recorded…so we can rule it out from being caused by something supernatural like a demon or a god, since if some being didn’t want everyone to hear it, no recording would stop that intent. (assuming having a select few hearing it was, indeed, the plan)

But it’s frickin giving me the heebeejeebies. I don’t think it’s some government or UFO thing though. My roomate isn’t convinced, and suggests that because of 2012 and all, people are newly freaking out with things that may be unexplained, but that aren’t new, and can probably be explained by boring ol science. I’m inclined to agree. Still, dude, that first video, creepy. A lot of it sounds like aircraft though. But like, the way it doesn’t seem to be ’‘traveling’’... You can clearly hear the difference between that stagnating sound and the actual jet that goes by. By a recording like this though, I might be completely mistaken. :/

Besides the first video though, they seem to put a lot of style and dramatic mood in this presentation…I’m not saying this is bullshit, not at all. Plenty of other more serious videos bout this. But I tend to be careful with the more dramatized vids that attempt to settle a mood. Kinda reminds me of Unsolved Mysteries, or Fox News. XD

Speaking of US, I remember one episode about a big mountain, with a humming noise that came from it. There was a town by the base of the mountain, and the people there said it sounded like the humming of a refrigerator. The people got really scared and all abandoned the town. But that sound came from a mountain, not the sky, and people didn’t say they felt anything particular from hearing it. (headaches, anal evacuations) so maybe these two hummings aren’t the same. Strange.

@filmfann you mean Tug Toner the shakeweight is so 2009.
@Blackberry I do enjoy a good romantic comedy sometimes.

CWOTUS's avatar

Let me give it some more thought.

Hmmm. Don’t interrupt me; I’m thinking.

@judochop Me too. The last one I saw was that movie where the girl falls into the friendzone with a guy she likes, then her friend ends up falling in love with him, so she has to confront her feelings and take him back or something. It wasn’t bad.

I sure do hope that the Twilight saga continues to pull at my heart strings.
