I WAS gunning for the 76ers but now I’m leaning towards the Celtics. Anyone but the Lakers is good.

I agree. Any team but the LA Lakers!

I was rooting for Dwight Howard and the Magic. Now, I don’t care.

Having lived no where else, I have to go with my home team: the Los Angeles Lakers.

@AstroChuck…I see your good taste in candy and soda does not extend to pro basketball…

Sorry. The refs stole the semi-finals from the Kings a couple years back so I am a bit bitter. Plus, being from NorCal I can’t help but root against LA teams. But don’t be too upset. My loathing of the Lakers could never approach the hatred I have for the Dodgers.

we want the spurs, we live in Austin, we’ve been in 4 games, now, were going on Sunday, and hopefully to one game for the finals.

The winners of 14 soon to be 15 NBA titles, the franchise with the best winning percentage, the team with the most players in the 50 greatest list of all time (6). Home to the true MVP Mr. Kobe bean Bryant, Wilt, West, Kareem, Magic, Big Game James Worthy, Legendary broadcaster Chick Hearn, coached by two hall of fame coaches: Pat Riley and Phil 9 rings Jackson.

Celts, baby!!!

Please don’t mention Kobe Bryant in the same sentence with the greatest player in the history of the game. Wilt et al was with the Lakers when they were a class act. NOharmetc must go way back to use Chick Hern’s favorite saying as a name. So you must remember when officials actually called fouls. If the Lakers didn’t get every call and break they would be just another team. Who in the NBA gets more calls and whines more than the MVP?
Any one but the Jackson 5 – my favorite

AstroChuck's avatar

Sorry, but Bill Russell was the greatest. And Rick Barry was the greatest freethrow shooter of all time.

@NVOldGuy “so you must remember when officials called fouls”.... Of course isn’t that when the Lakers won most of their hardware?? Let me ask you this, where were all the calls two, three years ago?? Why didn’t people complain about calls in favor of Kobe and the Lakers back then? I’ll tell you why, because now we have ANOTHER DYNASTY IN THE MAKING and people can’t take it. If you also remember Chick then you too must go way back so I assume you are having flashbacks of Laker dominance. Scared?

I see the Spurs/Pistons in the finals with the Spurs taking it. The only reason I see Detroit over Boston is that Boston can’t seem to win a road game.

hearkat's avatar

Of the 4 remaining teams, I hope the Celtics win it all. I can’t pick a lesser of two evils in the West.

NVOldGuy's avatar

Noharm I was a big time Laker fan when they were a class act. I did get to watch Wilt and Magic. I remember when West did get called for fouls and Magic too but now???? Kick ‘em, hit’em or just deck ‘em just so you’re in a Laker uniform.

jstringham21's avatar

@iriemuffin

They also never lose at home. 4 home games, 3 away games. Theyll be in the ‘ship.

NVOldGuy's avatar

Laker fans let’s watch the game tonight and see who gets the calls. Just watch the two super stars Kobe and Duncan and see if Duncan gets away with what Kobe does.

NOharmNOfoul's avatar

What does Kobe do? Are you referring to his ability to create contact and draw the foul? That’s just experience and smart play. NVOldGuy and those people out there believing the same thing, you guys have some Basketballs. Again answer this please, where were all the calls that you guys complain about a year or two or three ago? Where were all your complains back then? The Lakers are back and everyone throws a fit. Live with it. By the way didn’t lil’ Timmy win the Chip last year??

NVOldGuy's avatar

Kobe has been getting the calls ever since he’s been a Laker. Yep he is smart he gets to jump into guys and gets the foul. Would he still jump into someone if he wasn’t getting the calls? Let’s see what happens tonight. No blinders remember. NOharm do you know what happened to Wilt’s old place there?

NOharmNOfoul's avatar

NVOldGuy here are some stats for you my friend:

Timmy- 6/10 at the free throw line
Kobe- 4/4

in case I didn’t make myself clear, that would mean Timmy got more than double the calls Kobe did.

NVOldGuy's avatar

Wow what a great game. I enjoyed watching the Lakers for the first time in ages. I always wondered if Kobe could do it without help from officials. He did and it was a pleasure to watch. What a great come back. The NBA would be much better off if all the games were called like this one.
I’m still curious what happened to Wilt’s house??

I honestly don’t really care about what sport teams win, though most dont agree with that. I just like to see a good game, preferably the underdog I guess. But I do love sports.

However, being in Boston now, guess I gotta say the Celtics because that means the city turns into a party which is (and has been the past few years) effin fun. So yes, on the bandwagon cause its taking me to a party.
