Do you know of any truly odd certifications or degrees one can get on line?

Looking through the online degree programs, it seems like everyone offers an MBA. Boring!

So I’m wondering if you’ve seen something that is more unusual.

What are you trying to learn? Why do you want to learn it?

That’s normally the path people follow when deciding to invest the time and money to earn a degree.

Here’s an example of certification for something that doesn’t require certification. It baffles me how one could get the needed experience for dog grooming without touching an actual dog. I’m also suspicious that they misspelled the word grooming at the top of the home page. hmmm

I have a PhD in heresy from here.

@Charles You must be a consultant? Asking me to answer my own damn question…

@KoleraHeliko Brilliant. That’s what I’m talking about.

@Blueroses Maybe when you do it really fast it’s gerooming? Nice catch in any case.

Yep.

Including: Funeral Services is a bachelor degree program you would be ashamed to talk about not because of the nature of the job, but due to other people’s reactions. Not only do you have to put up with weird looks when telling people you work around dead bodies and crying people all the time, but a slew of annoying questions will make you regret ever saying anything at all. ‘Did you ever get any murders?’ ‘Did anyone hot die?’ ‘Is it gross?’ ‘Does it smell?’ Shut up already! You don’t grill them about their borderline taboo knowledge, and examining the person like a specimen. Attending an online bachelor degree program in funeral services might leave you enjoying the company of the dead more than the living.
