Good no-styling starter blogger template?

Asked by Narthur (30points) January 23rd, 2012

I’m looking to code my first blogger template. Does anyone know where I can get a starter template that has next-to-no styling for learning purposes? Using one of Blogger’s pre-built templates could work, but it’s a real pain wading through all the unneeded styling to find the skeleton when I have no clue what most of the stuff I’m looking at is.

I know you’re on Blogger… but if all you’re trying to do is learn from some existing templates on a well-known blogging platform, then perhaps you should try Tumblr instead. They offer dozens (hundreds?) of free templates, many of them explicitly simple and clean that you might enjoy working with.

After signing up for a free account, just go to “Customize your blog” to get started with selecting the template you want. All of the HTML/CSS/JS is completely editable by you.

New to Fluther: How do you comment on an answer?

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, @robmandu. I went and did some research on Tumblr vs Blogger, and it seems as if Tumblr is more meant for short content. Is this true? I’m working on a blog for a business. Would Tumblr be well-suited for that?

And, btw, I believe I found what I was looking for here.
