Are you ever surprised by the GAs you gave to responses to old questions?

Asked by dappled_leaves (15893points) January 30th, 2012

Sometimes, I find myself reading old questions, and I’ll read a quip that I now leaves me cold… but that I evidently gave a GA at the time. Does this happen because our moods change, or because our outlooks change? Or am I the only one who notices this? :)

I don’t remember ever doing this. But to be honest, I’m not sure I’d notice that I’d GAed something unless I was thinking about doing it again.

I have never noticed my GAs on old questions.

I have not paid attention to this phenomenon.

I usually see the oposite. I wonnder, “Why didn’t I see the wisdom in that before?” Then I give a GA now.

@Judi Yes, sometimes I do that too – even more often, I don’t realize I’ve read the question before until I see that I’ve given someone a GA!

Your GAmeter was uncalibrated. Don’t worry. It’s fixed, now.

I am very surprised when a GA on an old question comes up. It reminds me that stuff I typed won’t go away.. which helps keep me from writing something that should. (sometimes I fail to do so)

The GA’s I hand out are mood related, subject matter related, friendship related, and a slew of other reasons. I’ve never GA’d and then thought differently later on.

Only the opposite has happened for me. When I was very new, I didn’t GA as often a I do now… it just wasn’t a habit yet. Other times, I’ll go to GA something and see that I already have, even though I have no recollection of having read the thread before.

I go through the oldies and sometimes GA and I wonder if it is like a tree in the woods. Does anybody know it??
