Crushed glass make a lot of noise when walked on. Maybe it is to be sprinkled on the walkway and the element of surprise is lost. Having some thrown in one’s face is probably no good also.

@woodcutter that’s what I thought at first, but unless you have crushed glass constantly sprinkled in your walkway, you’d have to have foresight about the impending attack, and if you could see it coming, you could do way better than crushed glass (have the police waiting? LOL)

A well made door with decent locks would be better security than a box of glass I would think. Add a noisy mutt to the mix and the crushed glass seems dumb. Maybe he’s reloading shotgun hulls with the stuff but would make more sense to have all that done way in advance- before something happens. I wouldn’t even consider the cops as a first line of defense in a doomsday situation. They’re going to be ass deep in alligators with problems of their own.

If the crushed glass is in a box it is useless. A hand grenade would be better.

I would be hesitant to lob a hand grenade out in front of the house. Could turn into one of those petard incidences.
