Why did Post stop making Oreo's cereal?

Asked by auhsojsa (2516points) February 20th, 2012

By far my all time favorite cereal is now a distant memory. Do you know when it stopped production? Why did they stop production?

You could certainly write to these corporations and see if they respond. Cereals come and go. Some of my favorite cereals died an early death when I was a kid. (Nerds cereal anyone?)

You can still get Oreo-Os in some countries. South Korea seems to be one of them.

In the US they’re usually discontinued because they aren’t a big seller or they get bullied into by some kind of group who feel it’s their duty to protect everyone from stuff they like.

My guess is the 15g of sugar per 36g serving size: nutritional information

That is higher than lucky charms and cap’n crunch, which probably made Oreo O’s a target.

I see. I thought perhaps it might have caused a drop in the actual Oreo cookie sales? Damn I miss my Oreo O’s :/
