New to Google Docs: will it allow me to save one as a Word doc?

I sent someone a Word doc as an attachment for editing and they sent it back as a Google doc. I sent that on to someone through Gmail who sent it to someone else who says they can’t access it. I want to send it to them now as a Word doc attachment but don’t see a way to save it as such. Did do a Ctrl C, Ctrl V but that lost the formatting. Any ideas?
