Any “Polytechnic Institute” or “Institute of Technology” will have a strong mechanical engineering program. But you have to be very sure that you want to study something in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathdmatics) field, because technical colleges usually offer very little else. Well, I gotta recommend my alma mater and its Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Plus, as someone who changed majors in my senior year, it is nice to have a wide variety of disciplines to choose from as well.

Check out Cornell University. I went to the Ag School but shared a fraternity house with a lot of Engineering students. It’s a great place plus it has, if I remember right about 11 different schools so the diversity of courses is amazing. Plus Ithaca is a great place.
