Why are things more hilarious when I'm under the influence?

Asked by Blackberry (33949points) March 1st, 2012

It seems like things are more funny when I have alcohol in my system, and it was this way in high school when I was under the influence of marijuana.

Of course it’s not always this way, my mood determines things as well, but in general it seems this way.

I am not a physician of any kind but I would hazard to guess that perhaps it is because you are under the influence?

as for the chemical/psychological process behind why, i am happy with not knowing. i don’t need to know exactly how my microwave works to enjoy last night’s pizza. (especially when i’m under the influence)

Your judgment is somewhat impaired. Since I had to stop drinking, parties are just not as much fun. I’m sorry.

On a more serious note… I haven’t smoked pot for quite some time, but when I did, I always got the giggles. Hysterical giggles over everything, that just wouldn’t stop until I passed out!

A friend of mine used to get high, then come up with great ideas, but when he woke up, he couldn’t remember the great idea.
So, the next time he got high, he made sure he had a pen and paper with him. When an idea struck him, he wrote it down.
On waking, he couldn’t remember the great idea, but he did remember that he wrote it down. He grabbed his shirt, and looked at the pad of paper in the pocket, and saw the great idea he had, which said: “This room smells funny.”

Because when you’re drunk those little brain cells that require logic are temporarily fucked.
Anything’s funny when i’m drunk, including pissing on my feet coz I can’t hit the pot.
