Can my tongue piercing be any size I want?

Asked by Marchofthefox (787points) March 9th, 2012

I recently pierced my tongue and I feel that my current jewelry (two 14g bars) are too big and heavy for my mouth, I have a small tongue. Could I possibly have my jewelry downsized to an 18g labret? After its done healing, of course.
Thank you!

I would suggest removing the large piercing, allowing it to heal, then going with the smaller gauge.

The flat, circular end of labret jewelry might be uncomfortable on your tongue, but you can always try. You should look into smaller sized acrylic or bioflex/bioplast jewelry first though. It’s more lightweight then metal.

Not more than your tongue size! ;)
