Why do so-called 'celebs' wear sunglasses come rain or shine?

Asked by SomeoneElse (2708points) March 15th, 2012

We all know who they are so wearing them as a disguise is a bit daft.

They probably don’t want to have to make eye contact with people who may harass them. I’m sure they miss privacy.

Well, they certainly make a real go at missing privacy, especially if they have a book/film/play to promote!

Rob Orbison wore his because they were presciption sunglasses.

He broke his in a Tennessee concert and only his dark prescription glasses were available before the concert. He wore them that night, and it has stuck with him for years.

Some of them for privacy. Some of them to cover drug usage.

Have you ever seen video of celebs when they’re outside getting constantly flashed hundreds of flashes per minute? The papa-paparazzi just flashes and flashes away. If they didn’t have on sunglasses, they’d probably be walking into things, blinded!

Because RayBan are paying them to wear them?

so the paparazzi can’t take photographs of the dark rings and bloodshot eyes from sleeping too little and doing cocaine too much?

i disagree with all the above. I think it because they are such phonies the glasses allow them not to make eye contact so they can’t be read. You can almost always tell how someone really feels or is lying be looking at their eyes. Celebs don’t want you to know what they really think or feel. They’re hiding.
