Does the Power of Suggestion really work?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) March 16th, 2012

I believe some people are more prone to take suggestions as 100% gospel, than others. People in clinical case studies are a good example. Placebo vs. the real deal.

Why is the power of suggestion taken so seriously by some people? Is it that they are followers and not leaders?

Question: if I suggested a plan to rob a bank, that would be foolproof and we would never be apprehended, would you join me? You do not know that we would not be caught, but the power of suggestion, seems to make it okay? Right or wrong?
