When you are really sick with the flu or a cold, nothing really serious, do you want to be pampered or left alone?

Pampered a little, hard to come by when you live alone.

I want to be pampered, but I don’t want to spread the cold or flu, so not pampered too much.

I want to be left very alone. I’d prefer people pretended I didn’t exist.

My dogs and cats prefer to swarm me, however. Being that they don’t understand, me wrapped in a blanket is not an invite for them to curl up all over me ;)

If a family member brings me a fresh water or hot tea, I am appreciative.

I have never had a cold or the flu (thank the Lord), but I use to have terrible sinus infections that made my face throb with pain.

I mainly wanted to suffer alone.

I want to be left alone. And I secretly want everybody to tell me how hard it is to deal with everything when I am not around to help.

Left alone. I already know what to do, and we all should.

Left alone! I’ve never worked a job that had paid sick leave, so I usually just go to work when I’m sick. Then I kind of rationalize to myself, “well, I already went to work, so I might as well do all the other stuff I normally do.” When I’m sick, seeing other people irritates me- all I really want to do is just sleep.

When I’m sick sleep is the best thing for me. So just leave me alone.

Sneak into my kitchen and make gallons of grandma-version chicken soup; slip downstairs and do the laundry, empty the litter box, water the plants and then, very quietly, leave the house.

@gailcalled I am with you!

When I’m sick, I just want everyone to stay away from me. I appreciate it when my mom or my husband get me “a little something special” to help me feel better, but I don’t want to be touched or really even have people in the same room with me.

FutureMemory's avatar

Left alone completely. I don’t want to even hear another human voice until I have recovered.

Leave me the hell alone!!!

chyna's avatar

^Okay! :-)

Ponderer983's avatar

@chyna Thanks :) I get cranky when I’m sick in case you couldn’t tell by the response lol. You wouldn’t want to be around me anyway

chyna's avatar

@Ponderer983 I kind of exagerate my illness, because I’m hardly ever sick. So I really want pampered. But that’s hard to do since I live alone. I have a cold and I’m telling a friend I’m sure I’m dying so they will pamper me. It’s not happening.

I vant to be alone! People, with the best will in the world, just pester under the guise of nursing. Sod that!

zenvelo's avatar

Left alone except someone bringing me cream of tomato soup with saltines for lunch, plus a sparkling water, then leave me alone the rest of the day.

muppetish's avatar

In general, I want everyone to stay away from me. I don’t want to see people or talk to people. However, I was sick over the weekend and appreciated my significant other’s aid and presence more than anything.

likipie's avatar

Depends on who’s trying to pamper/leave alone.

downtide's avatar

My ideal would be to be mostly left alone to sleep, but have someone bring me cups of hot lemon tea and maybe some flu medicine.

Bent's avatar

I would love the chance to be pampered when I’m ill. Doesn’t happen often though.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I want to be looked after by my boyfriend but left alone by everyone else.

Keep_on_running's avatar

I’m quite lonely in real life, so being pampered would be a nice change. (I really want to put a lol with a question mark here.)

lonelydragon's avatar

Left alone except for someone (preferably my SO) to bring me hot tea and a box of Puffs.

@Keep_on_running Your post makes more sense without it.
