Can someone help me find this song?

It’s sung by a man. Here are the lyrics:

I have tried googling these lyrics and can’t find them, hence this question.

Bob Seger had a song a little like that, but I think some of the lyrics aren’t the same.

Is it this one? The artist/band isn’t really listed but if you look up information on the event (Science Olympiad National Tournament), you may find who performed it. It was from May 20, 2010 at the Assembly Hall on the campus of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. You may have to contact them directly to find out.
