How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Asked by jca (36062points) April 17th, 2012

Here in southern NY it’s about 75–80 degrees today. Really nice and warm. Yesterday was hot, and it felt even hotter because was so sudden.

Two days ago it was weird hot, very hot winds blowing all day. That night we had some storms and the temperature dropped like rock. Today it is mostly calm, overcast, and in the mid 60’s. The temperature is supposed to rise gradually all week, getting up into the 80’s a couple days from now. I’m near Memphis, TN.

I don’t live in the woods & it’s more of a shoulder than a neck…..changeable.

I do live in the woods.

Yep, high pressure over the west coast after some crazy storms last week and building with temps today around 68 in my hills and pushing into the mid to high 70’s over the weekend. It is SUBLIME right now, just beautiful out, light breeze, birds singing and everything green, green green. My morning glory seeds are sprouting, the trees are all leafing out and the number one sign of spring, the explosion of baby gophers. Cats are in rodent hunting heaven, so many gopher holes to watch. lol

It is what it is. I owe you no explanation.

I was about to ask this question :P

It’s a chilly windy day here (about -3C).

Yesterday, it was a scorching 90 degrees here with 100% humidity. It was really nice outside, sunny with a nice breeze, but it was nearly unbearable in my non-air conditioned school for seven hours. Today, it’s been much more reasonable in the low seventies, which is just about perfect, in my opinion. It’s supposed to be reasonably warm all week, yay! :-)

Dazzlingly beautiful, springlike, sunny, life is just bustin out all over and I am loving every fine minute of it. Thanks for asking!

80 degrees with light wind and a pretty cirrus layer. Yipee, I’ve been waiting forever for this.

80 degrees here, too; clear, blue sky. Lovely.

Same here. The 2” of rain that we got in the SF Valley last week have really added some excellent green to our scene!

Within the last week, here in Yorkshire, England, we have had sunshine, hail, showers, wind, a touch of snow and a bit more sunshine.
Why do we hold such store with weather forecasts – it’s hardly controllable is it but people do get het-up about it all.
It’s almost a case of, ‘A man walked into an Iso Bar . . . ’

Cold (50 degrees) and showery, warm April sunshine and snow on the hills.

After a very rainy week, the weather has cleared up and is predicted to get warmer every day this week, up to 80 degrees.

the_overthinker's avatar

It snowed today… about -2 degrees this morning.

Yesterday was all warm, humid and jungle like. I even saw a tiger. I fuckin swear. There was a tiger.

But today, while it’s decently warm, there’s this icy and slightly violent Viking wind that won’t stop fucking around.

North-West England is about average for this time of year: about 10C (50F), cloudy and intermittent rain. Although we had some very very warm weather three weeks ago, up to about 22C which is freakily warm for this time of year. The week after that it was 2C and snowing.

Constant heavy showers here (south/west England) at the moment!

It’s pissing down & all the brass monkeys are missing their testicles…..sadly.
