What do you think we should call this day?

Asked by Blondesjon (33994points) May 4th, 2012

Tomorrow (Saturday – May, 5) is Cinco de Mayo and it is also a Super Moon. Since I’m not religious and I really dig both astrology and Mexican/American drinking holidays, I have decided to celebrate tomorrow. I’m just having trouble coming up with the “Day” name that I will begin to loudly toast to after about seven or eight beers.

I was thinking about going with Super de Moono.

You?

Ultra Platinum Moondoggy Day

Then, you can drink a six pack of Michelob Ultra and a six pack of Bud Light Platinum in celebration.

Just do not drive afterwards.

“White people need an excuse to get drunk” day.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Except the Grito de dolores is more fun when you’re drunk. And that’s not until September. Premature celebration!

How about Cinco de astro?

@Blondesjon If the mods do allow for edits, you might want to change the link to “Super Moon” as well. It also is for Cinco de Mayo.

Everyone should go outdoors at 5:00pm, pull down their pants, expose their buttocks at the sky.

Call it Moon the Moon Day.

Here’s accurate info, from Sky & Telescope

Saturday, May 5

“Full Moon (exact at 11:35 p.m. EDT), in Libra. This is the closest and largest full Moon of 2012, though not remarkably so. The Moon is 8% closer and larger than average, and only 0.16 magnitude brighter than average, so you’d need measuring tools to really tell. Take a look. What do you think?”
