Can you recommend a good hair setting gel/lotion?

After I wash my hair, I sometimes curl it (it’s a bit below shoulder length). I blow dry the roots for volume, then while the ends are damp, I put bendy wire curlers in it. I used to use an amazing spray setting gel that would hold the curl for ages, no matter the weather. It has been discontinued. I tried a TIGI product to no avail (Maxx? or something?)

Can you recommend a product that will hold a hairset (in curlers) well…and that can be used on damp hair?

Any info would be appreciated.
