How do you convert Flash files to .SCR files on a Mac?

Asked by LeavesNoTrace (5674points) May 11th, 2012

I’m at work and we’re trying to convert a SWF/FLV file to a SCR file to make a screensaver for a client.

Does anyone know of any programs that do this that are free or in the $30—$40 range? It must be mac osx compatible and make it into a .SCR file.

Thanks!

I don’t know it it’s even possible to do it. And I don’t think there’s any software that would meet your specifications; Mac software to convert Flash to .scr. .SCR files are Windows files. Mac screensavers are .saver files. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to create an .scr file on a Mac, under the MAC OS. I’m no expert though.

It seems like the easiest thing would be to get access to a PC and convert the Flash file to an .scr on the PC.

There’s a pretty good program for Windows called InstantStorm that’s free and would do the conversion pretty easily.
