Is it really Father's Day today?

Asked by tups (6732points) June 17th, 2012

This is weird. I was told on June 6th that Father’s Day was June 6th. But now it looks like it’s Father’s Day today.
Is it different in different countries or what is the deal?

Here it, like Mother’s day, is always on a Sunday. Last Sunday was the 10th and before that the 2nd.

Who told you?

It’s Father’s Day in France too, apparently. But je m’en fous.

Someone told me that Father’s Day is the same day as our constitution day which is June 5th(in Denmark) . But then I can see everywhere on the internet, that it’s Father’s Day today and I am confused. Does this mean I’ve forgotten Father’s Day twice?

And I meant to type in June 5th in the question.

Just call up dear old da’ and wish him the happies. Or visit his grave side. I had a funeral to go to today, and when we got to the cemetery, it was packed with people visiting their dear departed dads. I had no idea what a popular day it was to go to the cemetery. It will never be such for me. My dad will not have a grave. He believes in cremation. Which reminds me. I need to call him.

In the US Father’s Day always falls on the third Sunday in June. Since you are in Denmark, sadly you missed it. Sorry.

@AstroChuck I see. It’s weird how it’s different days. Anyways, it’s not a big deal, my dad forgets important days all the time.

Father’s Day was today, the 17th of June, in the UK.

It’s a shame all the kids, apart from my own, must lie to their dads on father’s day.
Giving them a card with “Best Dad in the world” written on it, there is only one champion in this field & you just read his post ;¬}

In Norway, Father’s Day is in November.
