Does anyone know any good and FREE DVD software with Screencap capability?

My old laptop (a five year old HP) came with Intervideo WinDVD 5 and it’s awesome. The screencap feature on it made it very easy to capture specific moments that go by too fast to pause at.
I now have this 3 year old Acer which came with a couple of different programs none of which have this feature(one totally sucks, it lags) and it really would come in handy for me. I tried this Coral WinDVD 11 thing which I think is the new Intervideo but I couldn’t even get it open so I removed it.

Anyone know any good quality DVD software that is FREE with a screencap feature that works on Windows 7?
