How do I disable my voicemail on my android phone?

Asked by gravity (3116points) July 7th, 2012

I have a new android 4 cell phone that I set up my voicemail on but didn’t want to keep voicemail set up. Can I now disable it or do I have to change my number?

When you say, “voicemail”, do you mean Google Voice? If not, you should be using Google Voice. Then you have complete control over how your voicemail works, etc. One of the advantages of Android is the ability to never have to deal with a carrier’s voicemail again.

No I have the carrier’s voicemail set up… I don’t want anyone to be able to leave messages.
