Violin players: Do you have any good songs to practice before entering a chamber orchestra?

Asked by blueberry_kid (5957points) July 10th, 2012

This summer, I’ve decided to really focus on my violin skills, but I don’t know any good music to practice. I’m also doing Chamber orchestra for sophomore year, and I’m a little nervous.

Any advice?

Meditation from Thaïs is good for changing positions, producing quality sounds on the E string, bow control etc…

Air on a G String, again for changing position all down on the lowest string…

Sicilienne & Rigaudon by Francois Francoeur-Kreisler for hard graft semiquavers…

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik for simple double stopping…
