How can we as a society help people accept each other?

I went to school where violence between groups was a norm. Even in the university levels hate and mistrust were noticeable.

“Be the change you want to see in the world?”

Easier said than done of course.

I think we’re already doing it, as a society. A million different ways.
Consider the alternate question: As a society, how have we been helping people accept each other?

We discuss things together across different cultures, we share news from other countries, we have anti-racism, anti-homophobia, anti-violence violence, anti-this, anti-that protests, marches, parties, conferences, pins and buttons and even vandalism.. to name a few.

As a raging homo, educate people. Don’t expect them to understand where you come from and why you are who and what you are. Be willing to answer questions.
