Privacy-related non-profit organizations - which one to contribute to?

I’m a strong believer in laws relating to personal privacy and autonomy. I think that we (collectively) need to support organizations that promote that.

I want to make a donation where it will do the most good—meaning that the organization should be:

a) effective. proven track record in their activities. Small percentage of donations go to fund-raising; large percentage to their activities.

b) national level – My view is that local organizations simply have less impact that national ones

c) creative, thinking out of the box. Unafraid to take on new threats to personal privacy.

The two that immediately come to mind are EPIC and the ACLU. I’m sure there others. Can any of you educate me to options?
