A good 1-minute monologue for auditioning for The Great Gatsby?

Asked by Politically (32points) October 12th, 2012

What’s a good monologue (1 minute) for the Great Gatsby, for a lady? I’m really only familiar with musicals…

Why not suggest that the lady read the book? it will give her some insight into the play. (A
Are we talking about a play?)

To pick a passage blind will give her no understanding of the text. It’s like reading Hamlet’s soliloquy without having read Hamlet.

I’m not sure there is a monologue in the novel “The Great Gatsby” from a woman’s perspective since the narrative voice is that of Nick Carroway. As @gailcalled asked, is there a play version? If so, that might have a monologue from Daisy Buchanan’s perspective.
