Which version of Fiddlers Green do you like the best?

The version by the Irish Rovers is my favorite. The insturmental version I like best was done by the Irish Guards Drums and Pipes.

John Connolly, who wrote the song, performed last year in the folk club I go to. I have to say that his is the best version I’ve heard.
Here’s a recording of him doing the song in 2003
Contrary to popular belief, this is not an Irish song. Connolly is from Lincolnshire (same as me) and his songs are mostly about fishermen of the river Humber.

Fiddler’s Green goes back to at least the 1830s. Connolly set a sailor’s version of the poem to music.
