I sold a iPod a few years ago and it worked out alright. The guy came over to my house and saw that the iPod worked and he paid me in cash and I never heard from him again.

I wouldn’t trust it if it wasn’t face-to-face and a cash transaction.

I sold my old cell phone to a guy in Sacramento. Same way JP did, but I went with a male friend of mine and met in public.

My husband is the Craigslist and Ebay king! We have sold lots of stuff and bought stuff. Good to have someone with you whether meeting or having someone come to your house. A public place/cash only is the better way to go (though that doesn’t work if you are selling something like a t.v. that people want to see works). Bring phone, paper and pen (license plate #) just in case.

I have bought and sold many things on craigslist, including cameras, a drum set, a typewriter, two cell phones, and other things. It is best to meet in public. If you are especially nervous, bring a friend, but generally people are just looking to get their stuff and get out (and not kill you). I have found most buyers and sellers surprisingly honest and friendly (particularly the guy who bought my drum set).

I’ve sold a couch, and given away a couch on Craigslist. Both were interesting/annoying experiences. The first one, the guy came with a friend, but both were quite out of shape. As they were moving the couch, one guy nearly collapsed. I thought I was going to have to do CPR right there. The other time, when I was giving away the couch for free, I specifically said “bring your own muscle” figuring that a free couch was enough of a deal. The woman who “got the couch” came with one guy friend and clearly was in no position to help move the couch. Very annoying since I then had to maneuver this heavy thing down into the guy’s truck. That said, I’ve successfully used Craigslist, so thats a bonus, I guess.

well, I know ebay pretty well 100+ positive feedbacks, LOL, its just that I want to sell a tube tv, too heavy to sell it on ebay for the shipping costs..,

Yea craigslist is awesome. I sold my Jeep Wrangler and a pair of steel doors on their. Both times met with the other person agreed on it and had a simple cash transaction. I think craigslists is way better than ebay. You dont have to really worry about shipping or anything like that and its free to list items.

I sold a gamecube on craigslist, it took FOREVER. People kept setting up buying it, and i would tell every one else I had a buyer, and then they would flake.

Anyway I finally did. I met somebody at a starbucks and it went well.

Never bought anything on craigslist. Just gotten apartments.

guitar pedals, video games, tv, furniture, stereo equipment… and they have always came to my house…. they only things i have had trouble selling on craigslist was my old car. i wouldnt recommend selling a car on there. but the majority of stuff works fine. have a friend or someone over when they come over and try not to make it seem like your doing them a service. be cool with the buyer, yet firm when it comes down to business. meet them outside with whatever you are trying to sell with you, and do it during the day. this will usually bring quicker, efficient sales, and is safer.

I have never had a problem with selling things on Craigs list. You just have to make sure your not talking to crazies! I have actually been cussed out via email because i sold the item before. Beware~
