Can you tell me what you know about making stained glass?

I took a class on it 20 years ago in high school and was thinking about picking it up again. I have time and it seems like a low capital thing I could do to make some extra cash.

Any recommendations on the best tools (cutters, soldering iron) to get started. Also looking for cheap places to get sheets of glass. And is glass something I should source locally?
