Is paying with Skrill on eBay safe?

Asked by _Whitetigress (4378points) November 22nd, 2012

I won an auction and to my surprise they accept Skrill payment only. The paynow button goes directly into’s Skrills page. What do you think?

If eBay allows it to be used as an official form of payment then it should be safe. I just looked over Skrill’s website and the company is based in New York City and not in some obscure country, so that puts the country under USA law. My guess is that Skrill charges lower fees than PayPal does so using Skrill only for payment is likely just a smart business decision on their part. Not to mention if it was a shady site that was not safe a vendor would be less likely to get their money from them, so it was in the seller’s best interest to make sure that it is safe just as much if not more than you as a buyer. Just be sure to use a credit card to pay and in the rare chance that there are any problems you can dispute the charges with your credit card company.

Is this still covered by EBay buyer protection? If so, fine.

As I know, Skrill is one of the alternate payment beside Paypal. So yes it’s safe
