Any suggestions for a phone that won't vibrate?

Asked by lefteh (9429points) June 6th, 2008

I have an LG VX8600 that I use with Verizon.
I’ve had it for a year and a half, and I’ve almost always had it on vibrate, and it’s always vibrated just fine.
Starting today, about an hour ago, it just stopped vibrating. I’ve checked the settings, it’s set to vibrate and everything — it’s not a settings problem. I turned the phone off and on several times, took the battery out, etc. No luck.
Any ideas?

Good luck, have the same phone 2 years old and vibrate mode works just fine. Must be a short in the wiring somewhere.

The motor is probably dead. Or one of the wires wiggled away from its connection.

Alright, thanks for the answers guys, but it just magically started working again.
Very strange. Hopefully it stays functional.

It’s just a tiny little servo inside. Much like disposal electric toothbrushes. Sometimes they just start do die out, you may have knocked it loose from the wiring and that’s why it’s being quirky. It may vary well stop again, but not necessarily for good.

It did stop again, unfortunately.
But, I guess at this point I’ll have to live with it.
Thanks for the info.
